Bristol tech start-up tops regional awards

SuSy, a sustainable homes start-up based at the Create Centre, was announced Innovator of the Year and Start-Up of the Year at the South West Business and Community Awards 2023, at the awards ceremony in Swindon this month.

The company received the awards for its work on its innovative new app, SuSy House, launched in June last year. The free-to-use app gives homeowners a bespoke analysis of energy efficiency improvements for their home, as well as connecting them to local contractors, via the SuSy Business app.

In partnership with Bristol City Leap, SuSy are now working to bring their offering to the social housing sector, with their vision to make sustainable homes achievable for all.

In their testimonial, the award judges said, “True innovation that is groundbreaking and making a huge impact nationally. Thank you for your commitment to sustainability and making a positive impact for many generations to come!”

Bryan Charter, CEO of SuSy said, “These wins further cement Bristol as a centre for innovation and sustainability. We’ve been blown away by the support we’ve received from communities across the city including Bristol City Leap, Future Leap and the Create Centre. We’re excited to continue pushing forward to help more Bristol residents on their journey to a warmer, greener, cheaper-to-run home in 2024.

The business will now go head-to-head with the best businesses from around the UK at the national awards in April.
