SuSy welcomes Leanne to the team

We’ve bolstered our marketing and communications team with a new hire. Leanne joins the team with experience in journalism and the construction sector.

What’s your role?

I am currently the Trade and Communications Lead. My role involves telling everyone, everywhere about all things SuSy! I spend my days producing press releases, social media content, talking with homeowners and tradespeople. I organise events and exhibitions to showcase how we can help just about everybody! I attend networking meetings and events to further broaden our reach and I work closely with our marketing team to get our name ‘out there’. In short, my job is a little bit of everything that’s not tech!

What’s your story?

Prior to working at SuSy I was an award-winning journalist. I covered the majority of the South West and told local as well as national stories. I have a degree in Law and a keen interest in Women in Construction and Tech work. I do a lot of charity work and have assisted one in Bristol for many years as well as raising thousands of pounds every year for Bristol’s Children’s hospital.

Why were you interested in SuSy?

In my role as a journalist the most enjoyable and rewarding part was being able to help people, and ultimately that is what SuSy has set out to do and most definitely will achieve. SuSy will transform people’s lives, including mine. I have always wanted a job that means I can make a difference and I truly believe I will do just that along with my team at SuSy.

What do you think will be the biggest challenges?

My team know – I struggle with any of the tech side of things! My strengths definitely lie in relationship building, not app building! I would like to spend time to get a bit more savvy with our development team, at least so I can sometimes understand the terminology!

What are you looking forward to?

I am looking forward to watching SuSy soar. I truly believe our company will be smashing ceilings everywhere and we will be very busy. I am also looking forward to our team expansion as we grow.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

As a mother of four, my hobbies include trying to find a quiet space! I love to spend my time with my children, supporting them in all of their endeavours, their sport and watching them grow into wonderful humans alongside my husband. I have had the same group of friends for 30 years so I enjoy our monthly catch ups. I love a weekend away with my family to watch a great live band or a major sporting event. And, unfortunately, I love to watch the England football team!
