It’s cake all round as Rosie, our Head of Design, joins the SuSy team full time.
Rosie has been working at SuSy, as one of our co-founders and Head of Design, since our embryonic days in 2021. As is a familiar reality for many founders, she’s been juggling SuSy with a full time job. Thanks to the success of our recent raise, she’s finally able to quit the day job and make the jump to SuSy.
We caught up in her first full-time week.
What’s your role?
I’m the Head of Design at SuSy. That means I lead on the UX and UI design of our apps, as well as the design for our brand and marketing activities. As a co-founder, I also have a role in the management of the business.
What’s your story?
After working in design for a number of years, I decided it was now or never to do a ski season. Unfortunately, I picked the 2019/20 season and ended up evacuated from France as it went into its first Covid lockdown. During that lockdown job-search, I met Mauro and we connected over his research, the pre-cursor to what became the SuSy House app. Mauro introduced me to Bryan and the rest is history!
What do you love about working at SuSy?
Everything – the team, the purpose, even the start-up chaos! We’re a small team at a really exciting stage – the energy in the business is like nowhere else I’ve worked.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Wow, time outside of work? That’s a real novelty after the last couple of years! In the warmer months I love the adventure of bike touring but at this time of year I’m preoccupied by the snowfall in the Alps – I can’t wait to get back on my skis. I’m a keen cook and have recently been experimenting with fermentation and home brewing – I think that’s the scientist in me!
